And now the vast hordes of Vatican bureaucrats are turning to taxis, shunning their luxury limousines in case the boss thinks they're being indulgent. Taxis! The horror! Pope Francis says he chose his name because of St Francis of Assisi, who sold all his goods to give to the poor, who stripped the clothes off his back, who begged for garbage to eat and made poverty holy.
